The Role

The Business Development Director will supervise and coordinate the efforts of the sales, marketing, and customer service teams. Their objective is to position the organization among the leading and most respected manufacturers specializing in exterior and interior wood siding. To achieve this, they must monitor the evolution of customer habits and needs, help the organization diversify, maintain the current client base, and increase business opportunities. In addition, they will oversee all activities related to marketing, sales, continuous improvement of practices and processes, advertising, and the optimization of customer service quality. Corporate reputation and brand awareness will be their daily driving force. They must also ensure team efficiency, meet budget targets in order to satisfy customer needs, and maintain alignment with the company’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market needs to identify business opportunities or recommend the development of new products or markets;
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with current and future clients (major accounts)
  • Establish contractual agreements, negotiate, and conclude sales with clients (major accounts);
  • Seek ways to increase revenue and participate actively in boosting sales;
  • Establish, monitor, and measure the achievement of budgetary and operational sales objectives;
  • Develop and implement a departmental strategy for sales, marketing, after-sales service, and communications, ensuring alignment and coherence with the corporate strategy;
  • Translate departmental strategies into actionable sales, marketing, customer service, and communication plans (projects);
  • Supervise and develop the potential of team members in sales, customer service, and marketing;
  • Clearly define team objectives and expectations;
  • Manage, coordinate, and organize tasks, and evaluate employee projects and performance;
  • Track project progress, meet deadlines, and respect allocated financial and material resources;
  • Ensure the team maintains the philosophy of offering exemplary after-sales service, and perform follow-ups and support with major accounts;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction during and after the sales process;
  • Handle and administer service calls;
  • Control and approve sales commissions and expenses;
  • Establish conditions for opening new client accounts;
  • Participate in various committees (e.g., R&D/Innovation) and attend management meetings;
  • Continuously improve departmental efficiency through the development of new practices, policies, and working methods;
  • Participate in and represent the company within committees, sector associations, groups, or initiatives that support industry development;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or relevant equivalent) combined with 5 years of sales experience;
  • Demonstrated creative and original ideas aligned with organizational directions;
  • Experience in managing a team;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Autonomy and ability to take initiative;
  • Appreciation for teamwork and prioritization of group success;
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability;
  • Strong customer satisfaction mindset;
  • Technical skills related to raw material processing are an asset;
  • Proficiency with various computer systems.

Working Conditions

The person in this position will spend a significant portion of their time in the office with the team but may also be required to travel. Weekly working hours may vary.

Conditions will be determined based on the candidate’s profile.
