The Role

The Business Development Director will supervise and coordinate the efforts of the sales, marketing, and customer service teams. Their objective is to position the organization among the leading and most respected manufacturers specializing in exterior and interior wood siding. To achieve this, they must monitor the evolution of customer habits and needs, help the organization diversify, maintain the current client base, and increase business opportunities. In addition, they will oversee all activities related to marketing, sales, continuous improvement of practices and processes, advertising, and the optimization of customer service quality. Corporate reputation and brand awareness will be their daily driving force. They must also ensure team efficiency, meet budget targets in order to satisfy customer needs, and maintain alignment with the company’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market needs to identify business opportunities or recommend the development of new products or markets;
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with current and future clients (major accounts)
• Establish contractual agreements, negotiate, and conclude sales with clients (major accounts);
• Seek ways to increase revenue and participate actively in boosting sales;
• Establish, monitor, and measure the achievement of budgetary and operational sales objectives;
• Develop and implement a departmental strategy for sales, marketing, after-sales service, and communications, ensuring alignment and coherence with the corporate strategy;
• Translate departmental strategies into actionable sales, marketing, customer service, and communication plans (projects);
• Supervise and develop the potential of team members in sales, customer service, and marketing;
• Clearly define team objectives and expectations;
• Manage, coordinate, and organize tasks, and evaluate employee projects and performance;
• Track project progress, meet deadlines, and respect allocated financial and material resources;
• Ensure the team maintains the philosophy of offering exemplary after-sales service, and perform follow-ups and support with major accounts;
• Ensure customer satisfaction during and after the sales process;
• Handle and administer service calls;
• Control and approve sales commissions and expenses;
• Establish conditions for opening new client accounts;
• Participate in various committees (e.g., R&D/Innovation) and attend management meetings;
• Continuously improve departmental efficiency through the development of new practices, policies, and working methods;
• Participate in and represent the company within committees, sector associations, groups, or initiatives that support industry development;
• Perform any other related tasks.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or relevant equivalent) combined with 5 years of sales experience;
• Demonstrated creative and original ideas aligned with organizational directions;
• Experience in managing a team;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills;
• Autonomy and ability to take initiative;

Working Conditions

The person in this position will spend a significant portion of their time in the office with the team but may also be required to travel. Weekly working hours may vary.

Your responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of quantities and the quality of incoming orders and report any irregularities

• Perform periodic inventory counts

• Unload raw material shipments

• Complete receiving documents for delivered goods

• Transport wood required to begin the order preparation process for production

• Transport wood for processing according to instructions

• Ensure all outdoor wood bundles are covered and protected at all times

• Ensure proper inventory rotation at all times

• Complete quality inspection reports for raw materials

• Load outgoing shipments according to shipping documents (quality and quantity)

• Take moisture measurements and visually inspect the quality of incoming wood

• Keep the yard, warehouses, and loading/unloading areas clean and free of waste

• Maintain inventories in good condition at all times

• Assist the order picker in preparing orders

• Perform any other related tasks requested by the supervisor

Desired profile

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid forklift operator certification with a minimum of two years of experience operating forklifts

• Ability to lift loads over 35 pounds and work outdoors

• Basic math skills

• Demonstrate rigor in work quality and safety compliance

• Be autonomous and well organized

• Show a positive attitude, initiative, and strong teamwork skills

• Ability to identify and distinguish colors

• Ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities

• Proficient in spoken and written French

• First aid training (an asset)

Working conditions

The person in this position spends most of their time outdoors and is exposed to hot and humid conditions at times, and cold weather during winter.

Your role

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Moulder Operator is responsible for operating, adjusting and monitoring the moulder in order to produce wood components that meet the quality and production specifications of Groupe Sidex inc.

The operator must ensure the machine runs properly, make the necessary adjustments, check product quality and keep their work environment clean and safe.

Your responsibilities
Moulder operation

• Operate the moulder safely and efficiently.
• Adjust the machine according to the required profiles and specifications.
• Install and adjust knives, cutterheads and the various equipment needed for production.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired profile, dimensions and quality.
• Feed raw material into the moulder.
• Constantly monitor the machine's operation during production.
• Carry out production changeovers and profile changes.
• Minimize wood waste and optimize raw material yield.
• Immediately report any mechanical anomaly or production issue.

Quality control

• Regularly check the dimensions and profile of the products manufactured.
• Perform quality checks according to the standards set by Groupe Sidex.
• Check the appearance of the wood and identify defects that could affect product quality.
• Ensure products meet specifications before they are transferred to the next stage.
• Make the necessary corrections when products do not comply.
• Perform the required checks and measurements, particularly when products are destined for sanding or other processing stages.

Maintenance and upkeep

• Perform routine checks on the moulder.
• Clean the machine and its surroundings daily.
• Carry out required lubrication and preventive maintenance.
• Check the condition of knives, bearings, belts and other accessible components.
• Promptly report maintenance needs to the maintenance manager or supervisor.
• Take part in equipment changes and maintenance when required.

Desired profile

• High school diploma (DES) or equivalent;
• Experience operating wood processing machinery, an asset.
• Good ability to make mechanical adjustments.
• Good understanding of measurements and dimensions.
• Ability to read and understand production specifications.

• Full-time position based mainly inside the plant, subject to variable conditions (heat, humidity, dust depending on the season), with frequent trips to the outdoor yard;
• Regular day schedule, with flexibility to work evenings or overtime depending on production requirements.
