We are looking for our future Buyer/Planner: a committed and autonomous person who, thanks to his or her rigor and negotiating skills, will be able to effectively manage production and purchasing planning as well as the complete procurement cycle.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will negotiate and process purchasing transactions, plan the scheduling of orders according to production capacities and delivery dates. He/she will also validate stock availability and supplier lead times. She will ensure sound management of raw material procurement, supplies as well as inventories.

Job responsibilities :

  • Plan order scheduling based on production capacity, inventory availability and delivery dates;
  • Ensure close coordination between sales needs and production requirements;
  • Ensure product processing;
  • In collaboration with the production supervisor, schedule the production and maintenance phases at the best possible cost and in the shortest possible time;
  • Carry out needs analysis, purchasing and follow-up to ensure material availability on time;
  • Negotiate prices and contractual agreements with suppliers;
  • Coordinate daily inventory management and keep the inventory system up to date to avoid stock-outs or overstocks;
  • Proactively report material availability problems and participate in the preparation of a recovery plan to minimize impact;
  • Perform order data entry in the computer system;
  • Verify and approve incoming invoices;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Our future Buyer/Planner will stand out if he/she :

  • Holds a college diploma in administration, industrial management, operations management or equivalent;
  • Has worked in a similar position and in a manufacturing environment for at least 3 to 5 years;
  • Knowledge of the wood and construction industries (an asset);
  • Proficient in the Office suite and can quickly learn other computer programs;
  • Fluent in French and English;
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and the ability to manage several tasks in parallel;
  • Is recognized for his/her organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Is stimulated by teamwork, exchanges and sharing;
  • Is highly customer-service oriented.

Your role:

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Customer Service Advisor welcomes customers to the showroom, answers inquiries and provides information about products and prices. He/she is the first point of contact for customers, and knows how to respond to their needs to ensure their satisfaction. As a key player in internal sales, he/she is also an indispensable intermediary between external sales and the factory.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Accompany and advise customers who come to the showroom, proposing solutions to their projects.
  • Answer and redirect emails and phone calls as needed.
  • Write and present bids that respect customer needs and internal specifications.
  • Follow up with customers on quotations.
  • Coordinate samples with customer and production.
  • Process orders, have them approved and enter them into the computer system.
  • Inform production of order specifics.
  • Receive and follow up on after-sales service cases.
  • Maintain various databases (colors, sales statistics, etc.) and price lists.
  • Keep showroom up to date and in good condition.
  • Provide administrative support to external sales team.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

 

Profile required:

  • Relevant experience in customer service (ideally in the manufacturing/construction/design sector).
  • Mastery of the Office suite and ability to use various computer programs.
  • Demonstrate sales and consulting skills. Be highly customer satisfaction-oriented.
  • A well-developed and up-to-date sense of design, good taste and trends would be an asset.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and organization.
  • Ability to master several technical and often variable aspects.
  • Positive attitude, initiative and team spirit.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and new priorities.
  • Be color-blind, even at a low level.
  • Have a good command of spoken and written French and a minimally functional level of spoken and written English.

 

Working conditions:

The person assigned to this position works, Monday to Friday, in an office environment in the same showroom. Traditionally, the entire team is on vacation for 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks in the summer.
